Spiti Valley in the Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh in India is nothing less than a heaven. A few months in a year, it is open for walks. Despite this, it is the first choice of many tourists. Despite heavy snowfall every year, this place attracts lot of International & Domestic tourists from all over the globe. Greenery is rarely seen in this valley bordering Ladakh and Tibet. The cool desert and white snow-capped mountains add to its beauty. In winter heavy snow falls continue day & night & the temperature goes till minus 30 degree Celsius & have to fave less oxygen around the valley area.  

Outside the crowd, tourists spend many days in the serene atmosphere here. Most of the same people come here for picnics which are physically healthy. After 1991, it was also opened to foreign tourists.

There are many community people lives in the valley. They all have their own culture and customs. The number of Buddhist community has increased here. A unique confluence of Hindu and Buddhist traditions, nature is seen in various pleasing costumes in these valleys of Spiti. Somewhere the Temples and Gompas built on the mountains and with the echo of Buddhist mantras in them, the melodious tones of the instruments fill with a supernatural feeling, while elsewhere the beauty of the herbs and the beauty of the snow-clouds is seen.

Surrounded by all four lakes, and icebergs, the Spiti valleys nestled under the sky-rocking peaks are nothing less than a haven for tourists. The attractive lakes surrounded by icebergs, the peaks of the small mountains, the cool breeze breeze and the lush greenery all make Lahul-Spiti a new place in tourist places.

Foodie for Spiti Valley

If you will ask to me about food, my answer destination Spiti, because i am Momos lover. Spiti's cuisine has an interesting mix of dishes that everyone should taste. Tibetan cuisine is quite famous here because Spiti is between Tibet & Leh, apart of this lot of Tibetan peoples lives here. Israeli food can also be enjoyed here, because Himachal is famous for Israelis & Himachal is mini home of Israelis along with North-Indian cuisine. The village has barley fields which are the biggest source of food here. Grains are used here to produce (barley whiskey), chang (barley beer). The local food here includes the names of Momos, Thukpa, (Type of Ladoo used in breakfast) Butter Tea, Chang, which you must taste. Apart from this, tea here is famous for garnish of lemon, mint, ginger & honey. 

Best Time to Visit Spiti Valley

Summer is the best season to visit Spiti June to September. The temperature during summer between 0 to 18 degree Celsius, when the other parts of India very hot. Don't traveling to Spiti in the monsoon time as frequent heavy rains, landslides and slippery roads very dangerous during your travel.

Known for its mesmerizing landscapes, snow caped mountains, beautiful lakes, mix culture, quaint environment, pleasing weather, Spiti Valley is one such destination which is in the bucket list of every adventure lover, and spiritual seeker as well. The thrill of riding through the rugged terrain, and fighting various obstacles such as the fiercely flowing waterfalls render Spiti as a hub for adventure seekers.

Very confusion that how to reach Spiti. I would like to recommend you travel by road which is most suitable to travel better then Air & Rail both are very far away from the Spiti. 

By Road

Traveling to Spiti by road is one of the most adventurous as well as convenient options for people traveling from nearby cities like Delhi, Chandigarh and more. There are various routes via which one can reach Spiti. Travelers can either take the route from Manali via Rohtang Pass, from Shimla, or from Srinagar via Kargil. 

Kaza town is a headquarter of Spiti Valley, you need to reach first "Kaza" to explore the Spiti Valley. Kaza is also known as Spiti Valley a part of Kaza there many other famous town which is also part of Spiti Valley like Tabo, Chandratal, Dhankar, Kibber, Battal, Komik, Hikkim & Langza. 

Domestic traveler can choose to travel to Spiti Valley by bus, taxi, or a personal vehicle. Here’s a list of cities with their respective distance from Spiti:

Distance from Delhi to Kaza, Spiti Valley: 720 km (approx.)

Distance between Manali and Kaza, Spiti Valley: 195 km (approx.)

Distance from Shimla to Kaza, Spiti Valley: 410 km (approx.)

Distance from Chandigarh to Kaza, Spiti Valley: 500 km (approx.)
