Important Note: For those having no time and not able to stand in long queues for entering the Temple, you can purchase online ticket INR 300 / PP for a quick entry from the reserve gate of Temple. But these price is not valid for special Aarti dates as per the Hindu festival special dates.

Sarnath
Located at a distance of 10 km from Varanasi, Sarnath is one of the most significant Buddhist pilgrimage site. Sarnath has become a pilgrimage place in Varanasi for Buddhists of all over the world. In some countries the Buddhism has become dominant religion, some of them from Japan. Thailand, Myanmar, Srilanka, Vietnam etc. This is the place where Lord Gautama Buddha delivered his first sermon, after attaining enlightenment in Bodh Gaya (Bihar). His first sermon is Maha Dharma Chakra Pravartan, meaning 'set in motion the wheel of Dharma'. It is believed that he had to cross the Ganga through air because he had no money to pay the boatman. He spent is first rainy season at the Mulagandhakuti of Sarnath. Gautama Buddha had given his first sermon to 05 people and they grown from 05 to 60 number. They sent by Buddha to all corner of the world to travel alone in order to teach the Dharma to people.

1. Pappu Tea Stall (Near Assi Ghat): You will shocked when you hear liquor tea, a typical Varanasi style Tea, local folks like a lot. He also served lemon tea, black tea, masala tea and many more.  

2. Pahalwan Lassi Bhandar: Lassi known in other word (Yogurt Shake) There are many shops in Varanasi but there are few shops are very popular for Lassi like Pahalwan Lassi, Blue Lassi & Bana Lassi. They served different flavored of Lassi like fruit, rose, kesar, mango any many more varieties. 

3. Kashi Chhat Bhandar: Best in Varanasi for Chaat. He served varieties of Chaat like Tomato Chaat, Spinach Chaat, Potato Chaat, Fruit Chaat & also serves Kulfi Faluda a type of ice-cream. Lot of crowed you can see here. 

4. Kachori & Samosa Lane (Near Dashashwamedh Ghat): Entire lane is popular for Kachori & Samosa all the shops are popular & the taste is almost same of every shop food. If you are crazy for spice food, this might be your favorite tasting. Kachori & Samosa both filled with spiced peas of potato and pulses. Very cheap price & tasty snack only INR 10 a plate of Kachori / Samosa. 

5. Deena Chaat Bhandar (Located in Gol Ganj):  Also popular for Indian snacks like Gol Gappe, papadi Chaat, Aloo Tikki and different variety chaat available here. 

6. Baba Thandai (Godowlia Road): Varanasi local people is very fond of Thandai. Baba Thandai is popular name in Varanasi. He offered a glass of Thandai approx INR 50. Thandai is an Indian drink prepared with a mixture of rose petals, almonds, fennel seeds, watermelon kernels, saffron, sugar & milk. This drink native to India and is often associated with the festival Maha Shivratri & Holi. 

7. Rajendra Chaurasia Paan (Located near Chowk Thana Godowlia Road): Known for best Paan in Varanasi. Paan is a Hindi for betel leaves laced with areca nut and pickling lime. Varanasi has unknown tradition of Paan being served and prepared in each and every corner of street. There is no street in Varanasi where you could not find Paan.
