Mystery of Nidhivan (Vrindavan)

The world famous religious place Nidhivan is located in Varindavan near Lord Krishna Birthplace Mathura (Uttar Pradesh). ‘Nidhivan’ is a Sanskrit term which means the ‘Forest of treasure’. According to locals, Nidhivan was settled by guru Haridas whose deep devotion, penace and meditation compelled Lord Krishna to visit this place. Legend goes that in the Nidhivan temple, Shri Krishna or ‘Thakurji’ arrives after nightfall and performs the divine dance or ras leela with Radha ji and all the gopis in Nidhvan Ji. Here the divine Rasleela between Lord Krishna and the ‘gopis’ takes place every night. When the doors opens in morning at present date, the foot prints of Bal Krishna and his calf can be seen on the mountain or forest area.

Reality of Nidhivan

It is said that all the creepers of Nidhivan are gopis. Who is standing with arms in each other's arms when Radha Rani ji, in the Nidhaivan in the middle of the night, takes a ride with Krishna. So the vine there becomes the gopis. And then Ras Leela begins whole night. No one can see this Ras Leela. Thousands of monkeys, birds, animals lives in Nidhivan throughout the day, but as sunset. All creatures go away on their own, not even a bird stops there. Even all the creatures inside the ground like ants also go inside the ground. No one can see Radha Krishna's Raas Leela because Ras Leela is not the leela of this cosmic world. Raas is the supreme divine leela of the supernatural world. No ordinary human being or creature can see with their eyes.

What Happens if Someone wants to Stay at Night in Nidhivan

If someone wants to stay at night & desire to see Raas Leela, you can not see the Raas Leela. Past time those person who stayed and escaped behind the tree to see the Raas Leela, God automatically closed his/her eyes, after that he forget everything and when the next day the servants came to Nidhivan to clean up, they found that a person is lying insensitive and foam is coming out of his mouth. Everyone tried to speak to that person but he was not saying anything. Within 02 or 03 days death confirm of that person, animal or anybody who stayed in night.

Rang Mahal - Makeover

The Nidhivan temple houses a beautiful idol of Radha Krishna and is surrounded by a sacred ‘kunj’ or forest, where Lord Krishna and Radha rest after the Raas Leela is over. Nearby, there is a small temple called Rang Mahal where it is believed that Shri Krishna decorates Radha with his own hands. The temple also contains ornate beds for the deities to rest. When Radha gets tired while doing Raas, Krishna presses her feet lotus. And in the night, they sleep in Nidhivan even today there is a bedroom in Nidhivan where even today the priest keeps water containers, paan, phul, neem stick (Toothbrush) and prasad. And when the patches open in the morning, the water is yellow, chewed betel and flowers are scattered, Toothbrush used.

What Locals Says in Nidhivan

Nidhivan Temple closes at 5 pm in the evening after which nobody is allowed to venture into the sacred kunj or the temple. The forest, which remains enlivened all day with the churping of birds and the chatter of monkeys transcends into an eerie silence at night. Houses in and around Nidhivan hardly have windows. Locals say that those who sneak out at night to catch a glimpse of the Rasleela either lose their mental balance, go dumb or die in shock. The residents of Nidhivan are deeply religious people who believe that the lord does not appreciate disturbances during Raas Leela. Hence, they strictly stay indoors at night. Some even claim to have heard flute music and the sound of ‘ghunghroo’ or musical anklets emanating from the forest at night. Many resident already left that area because by mistake someone came out side at night then it can be big lose.
